Phoenix, honored as the King of the birds, is an important element of Chinese culture since antiquity. Feng Xi Residence, named after the secular bird, embodies elegance and charm existing in the artistic life of Chinese classic. Compared as an appealing poem, its components of rock and tree, a single brick and tile could be words and expressions.
“Peony stands alone to become national beauty; spectacular event aroused by its blossom is bound to soar the whole country’s capital.”——<Enjoy the Peony, Liu Yuxi>.
When tracing back to our history, peony symbolizes the richness of culture in the heart of old-time Chinese people. In the design of Feng Xi Residence, the architect attempted to conceive with inspiration from traditional Chinese style, while anchoring the theme of peony. The theme is consistently presented in forms of sericite glass, chandelier and sliding door, reconciling the well-crafted space and interspersed with China Red, vintage black and other classical impassioned matches of Chinese tone. Spirit of classic aesthetics is narrative, following the revealing of refined and graceful, dignified and rich Chinese mansion.
The interior space was ornamented on account of re-defined three-primary colors: creamy white, light golden, and grey highlighted by China Red then. Wood from the Five Elements was implanted into the vintage Chinese space, embellished by nicely-textured silk fabric, genuine leather, and clothing, and finished by peony-patterned slide door, carpet, cushion, and sericite glass. The theme was pointed out along with the arrangement while simulating a free-standing meeting room of Chinese-literati style.
Contemporary ceiling peony-shaped chandelier complements the beauty of peony sericite. Its eye-catching color marries the wooden grating screen wisely. Flammulated resin wall, conveying a kind of visual energy emitted from China Red, forms a unique sense of space. Equivalently, the blue and white porcelain adds a historicaltaste of collection into space.
Different grades of grey optimized the ambiance of this residence visually, aiming to emphasize its humanistic comfort. Hand-painted wallpaper over the bedhead stands out the theme of peony, complemented by Chinese ceiling lamp, thriving gorgeously; private bedroom continues to use the ambiance of refinedness and peace. Its colorful hue and fertile formation remind us of its past and present, evolution and combination of oriental humanism.
