Id-china:As the leader of global lighting industry, Philips is trying to promote the
transformation to high-efficient energy-saving lighting solution for the society. What
is your view on the current office space lighting environment?
Carolyn:Sustainability and efficiency in lighting is at the top of the list for office
space lighting design for all new fitouts. This can greatly reduce operating costs for
our corporate clients which is a key factor in today’s economic landscape. Also, the
majority of our clients now seek LEED certification for their office environments so
not only is the installation of energy-efficient light fittings essential, but also
lighting systems using daylight and movement sensors also need to be considered. Gone
are the days of wastage and excess!
Id-china:作为全球照明行业领头羊，飞利浦正努力在全社会推广普及高效节能照明方案。对于当前
的办公空间照明环境，您有什么看法？
Carolyn:可持续发展和照明高效是所有新型办公空间室内装修照明设计的重中之重。我们许多客户
都希望他们的办公环境可以获得LEED认证，因此，不仅需要安装节能照明，也应该考虑使用日光和
行动感应器的照明系统。因为有了这些系统，资源浪费和过度使用已走入历史！
Id-china:Philips Future Office Space Lighting Design contest focused on three topics:
a.“My light”-- meaning lighting can be personal and individual.Task lighting is

playing an increasing role in workplace design, so flexible, cool-touch LEDS lamps and
LED strip lighting over functional spaces are incredibly efficient.

inspirational environment, and in our designs, we are driving a trend to incorporate
more decorative light fixtures including innovative pendant lights to promote a more
casual and collaborative environment in some areas of the workspace. This helps make
staff feel more “at home”.

saving.What are your thoughts on these topics? (If any.)
Carolyn:Intelligence and energy-saving is imperative now in our designs. When you
consider how fast technology is advancing, particularly in the case of electronic goods
such as smart phones and tablets, it is only logical that other essential items such as
lighting will follow suit and become increasingly “intelligent”.
Id-china:飞利浦未来办公空间照明设计竞赛注重三个方面：“我的照明”——意思是，照明可以是
个人和个体的课题。照明正在办公场所设计中扮演越来越重要的角色，功能区域上方安装的灵活、
不烫手的LED灯和灯条因而变得无比高效。“热情洋溢的空间”——意思是照明有助于营造创新与激
发灵感的环境氛围，而且在我们的设计中，我们正推广一种趋势，即引入更多的装饰性照明设备，

Carolyn:在我们的设计中，智能与节能是当务之急。当你想到科技是如此迅速地在进步，尤其是在
智能电话与平板电脑等电子产品领域，唯一合理的出路就是，其他必需品如照明也应紧随其脚步，
变得更加“智能”。
Id-china:What are the points to consider when you design lighting for an office space?
Carolyn:Firstly, we need to consider the mood of the space. We like creating dynamic
office environments so that some areas, for example the entry or reception areas, have
feature lighting that may be warmer and have lower lux levels compared with the
workspace. Secondly, the tasks the employee undertakes must also be considered. For
instance, when we design trading floors we need to consider a more diffuse lighting
rather than direct, overhead lighting as we deal with a lot with the glare of multiple
screens.
Lastly, perception plays an important role. Each person has a different perception of
how bright or light a space should be. Sometimes it helps to put the end user in
control to a certain degree so that individual tastes can be catered for. Dimming and
lighting scenes play another vital role.
Id-china:为办公空间进行照明设计时须考虑的要点是什么？
Carolyn:首先，我们需要考虑空间的气氛。我们喜欢打造动感的办公环境，这样有些空间如入口或
前台就获得了特别的照明，可能与工作区域相比，更加温暖，照明水平较低。其次，我们必须考虑
员工的工作内容。例如，我们设计交易大厅时，我们需要考虑更多的漫射光而非顶部直射光，因为
我们要应对多个屏幕发出的大量强光。
最后，人的感觉很重要。对于空间有多明亮，每个人感觉都不同。有时，这可以帮助我们在一定程
度上掌控终端用户情况，使得每个人的偏好都可得到满足。变暗与变亮的控制也十分重要。
